Mad Square Story

The atmosphere of Tihar Central Jail suddenly turns serious when Laddoo (Vishnu Oi) steps in. The inmates of the jail are frightened by his presence, curious to know his story. A gang surrounds him and asks him what happened to bring him to this state. Taking a deep breath, Laddoo recounts his past—a past filled with fun, mishaps, and unexpected events.

Laddoo reveals that it all began on his wedding day. His three best friends Manoj (Ram Nitin), Ashok (Narne Nitin) and Damodar (Sangith Shobhan) create such a ruckus in the name of making the wedding memorable that the entire event is ruined. In the guise of fun and frolic, things get out of hand and the wedding atmosphere turns into a chaotic event in no time.

But this is where the real story begins. The destruction of the marriage gave birth to a chain reaction that dragged many people into this trouble. Small misunderstandings turned into big problems, and the chain ended in a place where no one had even imagined—Tihar Jail. Full of fun, madness and unexpected twists, this story of Mad Square is full of laughter and surprise. This ups and downs in Laddu’s life is worth watching only on the big screen!

Movie Review

It is rare to see movies like MAD (2023) in Telugu cinema, which focuses only on fun and entertainment without any heavy story. MAD was a super fun movie—chill vibes, tremendous comedy and great timing. This was the reason why when MAD 2 (Mad Square) released, I was very excited. I was expecting that this film would be full of laughter and fun like that, but alas, this time the film gave less laughter and more headache.

This time the makers tried to repeat the success of the first part, but could not do anything special. The biggest shortcoming of the film was that it did not look natural and fresh like MAD.The entire team tried to recreate the fun and interesting storytelling of the first part, but it failed at most places. The jokes and situations were good at some places, but the fun was missing in most parts of the film.

The magic that was there in the first part was not seen in this film. The biggest specialty of MAD was that the audience could connect with its natural feel and simple story. That connection was missing in this film.

The character of Laddu (Vishnu Oi) was definitely funny, but the other characters did not get the kind of screen time and impact that they had in the first part. Especially Manoj’s (Ram Nitin) character seemed weak this time. The whole film is the same old story- college life, friendship and fun, but this time the fun is not even half.

If you are a big fan of MAD and are expecting this film to be a hit like that, then you might be a little disappointed. Some scenes do make you laugh, but the whole film lacks the madness and excellent screenplay that made the first part a superhit. Overall, this is a one-time watch film, but don’t go with high expectations.

Conclusion,

Mad Square (2025) was not completely successful in making an impact like its first part MAD. The film has some funny scenes and good jokes, but its comedy and screenplay did not seem as effective as the first part. Especially the comic timing and the chemistry between the characters was weak. However, if you like light-hearted, fun movies, then this one might be worth a watch. But if you are expecting a hilarious, non-stop movie like MAD, then this one might disappoint you a bit.
