Mr. Bachchan, released on 15 August 2024, is a Telugu language action thriller film directed by Harish Shankar. The film is an official remake of the 2018 Hindi hit Raid and stars Ravi Teja in the lead role. Along with him, Jagapathi Babu and Bhagyashree Borse (who is making her debut in Telugu cinema with this film) appear in lead roles. The film is produced in association with People Media Factory, T-Series and Panorama Studios.
Mr. Bachchan is the story of an honest but suspended income tax officer Anand, who fights the system and takes on black money. The story blends romance, politics and the machinations within the system. The love story of Anand and his girlfriend Jikki gives an emotional base to the film while his conflict with MP Mutyam Jaggaiah adds an element of conflict and thrill to the film.
Although the core idea of the film is strong and Ravi Teja’s performance is powerful, the film received negative response from critics and audiences, making it a box office failure.

Mr. Bachchan Story
Anand, fondly called Bachchan (Ravi Teja), is an honest and strict income tax officer. Due to his honesty and principles, he is suspended. After his suspension, he returns to his village where he meets Jikki (Bhagyashree Borse). Jikki belongs to a Marwari family and Anand falls in love with her at first sight. With time, Jikki accepts his love and the two develop a lovely relationship.
Meanwhile, Anand is reinstated and given an important mission – an income tax raid at the house of local powerful leader and Member of Parliament Mutyam Jaggaiah (Jagapati Babu). Jaggaiah is a corrupt and influential man against whom it is not easy to gather evidence and take action.
This raid becomes not just a government operation but the biggest test of Bachchan’s life. On one hand, his personal relationships are put to test, while on the other, he has to face political pressure, security threats and internal conspiracies.
The story of the film revolves around this mission, in which Bachchan overcomes every difficulty with his wisdom, honesty and courage. This is the story of an officer who is true to his duties and is ready to take every risk to bring about a change in society.

Movie Review
Mr. Bachchan is a film that really deserves appreciation. I give it a rating of 4.5/5. The hate that the film is getting these days is not justified at all. Instead of fan wars and comparisons, the audience should watch and enjoy each film from its own perspective. The story of this film is full of entertainment, and also sheds light on how income tax raids work. Though the scenes of the raid could have been a little more serious, the film still comes out as a great family entertainer—especially compared to recent films like Double iSmart.
Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja has given a tremendous performance in his old style. His comic timing and action scenes really make one feel that his ‘vintage’ avatar has returned once again. For the audience who were missing the old Ravi Teja, this film is no less than a treat. If you want to watch a film with family this season, then Mr. Bachchan is definitely a great choice.
Another viewer Ram Manohar’s opinion is also quite positive. He says that the amount of negativity that this film is facing is incomprehensible. According to him, this film is a good mix – which includes good music, good story and great actors. All these qualities are enough to make a masala film successful. Although some scenes seem a bit stretched, the director has tried to give some message in every scene.
Ram Manohar also believes that director Harish Shankar has not yet used his full writing potential. According to him, Shankar is a deep and strong writer and he is expected to make a strong comeback with a blockbuster soon.
Ravi Teja’s screen presence fills every scene with enthusiasm. And the cameo of star boy Siddhu also works as a surprise package for the audience. Overall, even though this film may not be the best, it is definitely a good film which you can watch comfortably with your family.

Conclusion
Mr. Bachchan is an entertaining and family film that marks the strong comeback of Ravi Teja. The film has a perfect blend of a good story, comic timing, and action. Though some scenes may seem stretched and the dialogues could have had more depth, the overall impact of the film is positive. Set against the backdrop of an income tax raid, the film gives the audience a different experience. If you are looking for a light-hearted yet upbeat movie, then Mr. Bachchan could be a good choice for you.
